Six cases of intralobar bronchopulmonary sequestration were presented. They were 5 to 29 years of age. All lesions were located int he left lower lobes of the lungs. Two were males and 74 were females. Symptoms were fever in 5 patients, productive cough in 5, dyspnea in 1. As for macroscopic findings the size of the sequestered protion varied from 4㎝ to 10㎝ in maximum cross. They were often cystic and were not communicated with the bronchial tree except for one case (case 6). The sequestered area showed bronchiectatic or cystic changes of varying degree associated with abscess formation in all patients. The cysts were lined by tall or flattened ciliated epithelial and, in some areas, cuboidal epithelium, and contained mucus or mucopurulent material. The broncho-alveolar structures observed were classified according to the extent of development of the broncho-alveolar tree, revealing the most common group being grade III (Iwaii), in all cases. A single aberrent systemic artery of elastic type was noted in all cases, and varied in size from 3㎜ to 8㎜ diameter.
